Cleaning Method Of Stainless Steel Polymer Melt Filter Element

Mar 22, 2025
1. Chemical cleaning method

- Acid-base cleaning:
Use an appropriate amount of acid (such as hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, etc.) or alkali (such as sodium hydroxide, etc.) solution to soak the filter element. Acid solution can remove dirt such as metal oxides, and alkali solution can dissolve organic impurities such as grease. The soaking time usually depends on the severity of the dirt, generally a few hours to a whole day. After soaking, rinse the filter element with a large amount of clean water until the pH value of the rinse liquid is close to neutral to remove the residual acid and alkali solution and prevent corrosion to the filter element.

- Organic solvent cleaning:
For some organic dirt, suitable organic solvents such as alcohol and acetone can be used for cleaning. Soak the filter element in an organic solvent and use the dissolving effect of the organic solvent to remove the dirt. Organic solvents are highly volatile. After cleaning, the filter element needs to be dried in time to avoid the residual solvent from affecting subsequent use.

2. Physical cleaning method

- Backwashing:
The filter element is rinsed with reverse-flowing liquid to wash away impurities blocked in the pores of the filter element. The pressure and flow of backwashing should be adjusted according to the specifications and materials of the filter element to avoid damage to the filter element. Backwashing can be used alone or in combination with other cleaning methods to improve the cleaning effect.

- Ultrasonic cleaning:
Use the high-frequency vibration of ultrasound to loosen and fall off the dirt on the surface and pores of the filter element. Place the filter element in the ultrasonic cleaning tank, add an appropriate amount of cleaning liquid, and turn on the ultrasonic generator for cleaning. The cleaning time is generally 10-30 minutes, depending on the severity of the dirt. After cleaning, rinse the filter element with clean water to remove the residual cleaning liquid.

- Air pulse cleaning:
Use the pulse airflow generated by compressed air to clean the filter element. Pass the compressed air through a special nozzle to form a high-speed pulse airflow, which impacts the surface of the filter element and blows away the dirt. The frequency and pressure of air pulse cleaning should be adjusted according to the specifications and materials of the filter element to avoid damage to the filter element.

When cleaning stainless steel melt filter elements, the appropriate cleaning method should be selected according to the nature and severity of the dirt, and the cleaning operation steps should be strictly followed to ensure the cleaning effect and the service life of the filter element.
At the same time, the filter element should be dried after cleaning to avoid residual moisture causing rust or bacterial growth in the filter element.
